Troy Cross Country Competes in North Alabama Showcase

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's cross-country teams wrapped up the North Alabama Showcase with a 26th and 27th place finish from John Hunt Cross Country Park.
On the women's side, Teanna Cason led the way with a 128th place finish, setting a personal best in the women's 5k with a time of 18:40.83, smashing her previous record, which was 19:14.70. Tanner Guest and Makenna Calbert rounded out the top three with times of 18:58.11 and 19:17.52
The men recorded 812 points en route to a 27th-place finish in a field that featured the likes of many nationally recognized programs, including Alabama, Kentucky, Auburn, and Georgia.
Mason Bennett led the Troy men in his season opener with a time of 26.28.34 in the 8K finishing just short of a personal record.
