HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Lane Watson and Keith Warner represented the Troy cross country program with a 126th and 138th-place finish, respectively, in the NCAA South Regional Friday morning in Huntsville, Ala, at the John Hunt Park.
"I'm really pleased with the efforts from Lane and Keith today," head coach Brian Cunningham said. "It was their first 10k in cross country, and they moved to eighth and 11th on the Troy all-time list. They each did a good job of moving through the field and improving their positioning throughout the race. This was a good culminating event as we turn our focus to the track season."
The duo made Troy's first appearance in the NCAA South Regional, on the men's side, since 2022 in their first-ever 10K race. Both of them claimed personal bests and moved into the top-15 all-time in the 10K for Troy history. Watson crossed the line first among the Trojans at 126th, timing at 32:48.95. Warner came close behind at 138th, finishing at 33:07.00 to wrap up the cross country season.
Today's event concludes the 2025 cross country season as the duo looks forward to the track & field schedule in 2026.
