TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The Troy track and field team placed four athletes in the top-10 on day one of the Crimson Tide Invitational at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium on Friday.

Going against 18 rosters, Lauren Locke was the sole Trojan to place in the top five in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase. The junior took off in the steeplechase, landing a second-place finish with a final time of 10:52.32.

The women's triple jump had two Trojans in the top-10 in Camryn Pettus and Amber Gordon. Pettus had her top jump occur on the third attempt. Reaching the 11.83-meter mark, the sophomore found her way to seventh. Just three spots behind her was Gordon in tenth. On her third jump, the senior took off for an 11.68-meter mark.

Blake Vaughn was the final Trojan to enter the top-10 in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase. With his first lap as his quickest at 1:15.63, Vaughn came home seventh in the event, finishing at 9:58.10.

Troy returns to action tomorrow at 11 a.m. with the discus throw event, ending at 6:25 p.m. with the men's 4x400-meter relay.
