Troy Softball Travels to Georgia Tech

TROY, Ala. – Riding a three-game hot streak, the Troy Softball team will travel to Georgia Tech for a Tuesday midweek tilt at Mewborn Field.
The Trojans (25-13, 11-7 Sun Belt) are fresh off their first series sweep of the season after downing Appalachian State in all three games.
Kelly Horne turned in a stellar weekend at the plate, leading the Trojans with a .800 batting average. The junior smashed her first career triple in game one of the series while also blasting her 10th home run of the season in game three.
With her 10th long ball, Horne moves into the top-10 of Troy's single-season home run records at 10th.
Leanna Johnson picked up a pair of wins in the series. The Trojan ace hurled a one-hit shutout in game one and turned in 6.2 shutout innings in game two to pick up two wins.
On the season, Johnson boasts a 1.91 ERA with 201 strikeouts over 150.1 innings of work.
SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS:
Similar to the Trojans, Georgia Tech (31-12, 11-10 ACC) enters the midweek also riding a four-game win streak.
Emma Kauf paces the Yellow Jacket offense, batting at a .391 mark with 18 doubles, a pair of triples, six home runs and 27 RBIs.
Inside the circle, Blake Neleman leads the Georgia Tech pitching staff with a 2.20 ERA and 161 strikeouts over 140.0 innings of work.
