Trojans Set for Rivalry Series with South Alabama

TROY, Ala. – A rivalry is renewed as the Trojans host in-state foe South Alabama at Riddle-Pace Field for a pivotal Sun Belt series beginning on Thursday, April 14 at 6 p.m.
The Trojans will be looking to flip the script against the Jaguars from Mobile, as these two programs played one another last season, with South taking all three games in the series. Troy last beat South Alabama 10-2 back on May 18, 2019.
This will be the first home series the Trojans have hosted South Alabama since May 2018.

The Trojans shake up their pitching rotation heading into the series. Rigsby Mosley starts on Thursday, then reigning Sun Belt pitcher of the week Garrett Gainous on Friday and Brady Fuller on Saturday.
Mosley will be making his fifth start of the season entering the matchup with a 1.38 ERA. Gainous is coming off a career performance against ULM after striking 12 batters in seven innings, and Fuller leads the team with 41 innings pitched.
Since returning from injury, junior Caleb Bartolero has made an immediate impact. The Woodstock, Ga. native is coming off a three-home run game against Jacksonville State.
Troy sees Easton Kirk, Jesse Hall, and Kyle Mock set new career highs in consecutive games with hits. Hall and Kirk are currently on a six-game hitting streak, while Mock is up to eight straight games with a base knock.
South Alabama sits one game behind Troy in the Sun Belt standings and is led by Miles Simington, who leads the Jaguars in batting average, slugging percentage, hits, and RBIs.
The Jaguars will send Matt Boswell, JoJo Booker, and Tyler Lehrmann to the mound to face the Trojans. Boswell comes in having thrown the second-most innings in the Sun Belt and leads the conference with 61 strikeouts.
