This game was initially scheduled for Tuesday, March 7, but inclement weather in the Jacksonville area pushed it back a day.

The Trojans are coming off a weekend series win over Kennesaw State, which saw Troy overcome a six-run deficit against the Owls to win 9-6 on Sunday. It was the first time since February 14, 2015, against Northwestern State that a comeback of that size had been made.
After making his first career appearance on the mound in relief against Alabama, Trojan senior outfielder Rigsby Mosley will make his first career start on the mound for Troy against the Gamecocks.
Mosley threw nine pitches against the Crimson Tide and recorded two outs, including a strikeout.
Mosley, who patrols left field usually for the Trojans, saw his bat start to heat up against Kennesaw State this past weekend as he went 5-11 from the dish with five RBIs and five runs scored. His two doubles over the weekend put him in a tie for first place with 55 doubles all-time in Trojan program history with Drew Fredrick.
Jacksonville State will counter with junior right-handed pitcher Trey Fortner who is 0-1 on the season and has a 9.95 earned run average in 6.1 innings pitched, walking four and only striking out three.
This will be the 147th time these two programs have squared off, with Troy leading the series 86-61. These two teams matched up last year, each taking home a win on their home field.
The Trojans are 16-7, dating back to 2000 when playing Jacksonville State on the road. This will be the third A-SUN team the Trojans have faced already this year, with Jacksonville and Kennesaw State being the other two.
