Troy Softball Travels to Samford; Game Times Altered

TROY, Ala. – The Troy Softball team will travel up I-65 for a Wednesday midweek tilt with Samford. Due to inclement weather in the Birmingham area, game times for the doubleheader have been shifted to 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The Trojans (20-9, 6-3 Sun Belt) are hot off a third consecutive Sun Belt series win after downing Georgia Southern in two of three games last weekend.
Anslee Finch boasted an impressive weekend, batting .556 with six RBIs on the week. The sophomore recorded five RBIs on Friday and went 3-for-3 at the plate Saturday.
Leanna Johnson continues to lead the way in the circle with a 1.63 ERA over 111.1 innings of work. The junior has fanned 164 batters, the fifth-best mark in the nation.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:
Samford (15-14) checks into the midweek after dropping both games of a doubleheader to Mississippi State.
Mary Katherine Tedder leads the Samford offense, batting at a .369 clip with 11 doubles, a pair of triples and four home runs.
In the circle, McKenzie Newcomb paces the way with a 2.29 ERA over 106.0 innings of work.
