TROY, Ala. - Following a tough weekend in the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic, Troy aims to put itself back in the win column this weekend with back-to-back matches against Samford and Jacksonville State.

The Trojans (4-5) open their week on Thursday with a trip to Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion to take on the Bulldogs (4-5) at 1:30 p.m. before traveling on Friday to battle the Gamecocks (4-5) at 11 a.m. in the JSU Tennis Courts.

On Its Head
Entering the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic, Troy was on its longest winning streak since the 2019-20 season (4).

The streak was turned on its head, getting swept in three-straight matches for a combined score of 0-16 - finished eighth.Â
Â
The Trojans took on #18 Wake Forest, Arizona and Yale, winning just two sets in doubles competition.
Â
Troy battled the Wildcats in the second round, taking each doubles match to an extra set, including a victory by Kristina Kukaras / Michelle Ncube, 7-6, 7-4.

Kukaras / Ncube followed up their doubles victory with a second against Yale, 6-4.

Samford welcomes the Trojans after two-straight losses against Middle Tennessee, 1-6, and South Alabama, 2-5.

R. J. Van Rensburg leads the Bulldogs this season with an overall record of 12-3 on court one. Van Rensburg rides a six-match winning streak in singles competition after starting the season 1-1.

The Gamecocks enter on a two-match winning streak, taking down Alabama A&M, 6-1, and St. Thomas, 5-2.
