TROY, Ala. - Troy opens its conference schedule this weekend in the state of Louisiana, taking on UL-Monroe before tackling Louisiana.
The Trojans (5-6) hit their conference schedule with the opener set for Saturday against the Warhawks (3-5) at Heard Stadium. Then, Troy hits the road again on Sunday to face the Cajuns (4-3) at the Cajun Courts - both matches set to start at 10 a.m.
Back in Rhythm
Heading into Saturday, the Trojans were on a 19-0 scoring drought that started at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic on Feb. 25 against Wake Forest.
The drought quickly ended last Friday against Jacksonville State, sweeping doubles competition.
Michelle Ncube had an impressive showing after winning her doubles competition alongside Kristina Kukaras, 6-3. Ncube put Troy up 2-0 after taking it to Ella Tuomela, 6-3, 6-2, to win her match and go 2-0 on the day.
Olivia Elliott put the Trojans just one point away from victory, defeating Kennedi Jones in an extra set, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
After Anastasiia Khokhlova lost her match to Romane Mosse, Troy turned to Franziska Ahrend to capture match point, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, ending Troy's four-match losing streak.
Going to War
Troy has its first matchup against ULM since April 7, 2019, where the Trojans walked away with the 4-1 victory.
The Warhawks closed out their non-conference schedule with a 4-3 victory over Northwestern State to end a three-match losing streak.
Hala Badwy leads the charge, entering Saturday with a 5-3 record in singles. Overall, the team sits at 21-26 in singles play and 6-14 in doubles.

Last Thursday, the Cajuns closed their non-conference schedule with a loss, getting swept by Tulane, 4-0.
Before Sunday's matchup, Louisiana opens its conference schedule against South Alabama on Saturday.
All weekend, the Cajuns look to Tanisha Kashyap (4-0) and Momoko Yoshimura (8-3) to get conference play started on the right note.
