Troy Continues Its Peach State Swing Against the Eagles

STATESBORO, Ga. – After starting its two-game road trip in Georgia with a gritty, 67-63 victory over Georgia State, Troy travels southeast to face Georgia Southern at Hanner Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
The Trojans (15-7, 6-3 SBC) sit second in the standings on a two-game win streak after a day full of upsets in the Sun Belt Conference on Thursday.
Ending the Era of GSU Sports Arena on Top
Troy walked out of GSU for the final time victorious in a battle of free throws on Thursday, 67-63.
The Trojans found themselves down by two before TK Smith, and Kieffer Punter led a quick 5-0 run for the final lead change on the night, 59-56, with 4:29 remaining.
The following 15 combined points scored for both sides had only five come from the field. Troy scored all of its following eight points from the charity stripe.
Despite a late three from the Panthers, Efe Odigie iced the game, knocking down two shots from the line to make it a two-possession game, 67-63, with 0:04 on the clock.
Odigie finished with his second straight double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Smith and Punter finished with 12 points apiece.
