Women's Tennis Prepares for the 74th Annual Blue Gray National Tennis Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Riding a four-match winning streak, Troy women's tennis travels to Montgomery this weekend to compete in the 74th annual Blue Gray National Tennis Classic.
The Trojans (4-2) enter an eight-team draw, facing off against Wake Forest in the first round on Friday at 11:30 a.m.
Joining the Trojans and Demon Deacons on the bottom half of the bracket is Arizona and Texas Tech, facing off at 11:30 a.m. The winners and losers of each contest will match up on Friday at 4:30 p.m. to decide who will move onto the championship.
The same can be said on the top half of the bracket as Oklahoma State faces Yale and Alabama battles Furman - both on Friday at 8:30 a.m. Each team is guaranteed three matches over the weekend.
Longest Winning Streak Since 2019-20
Troy looks to continue its longest winning streak since the 2019-20 season (4) on the national stage.
After defeating North Alabama, Michelle Ncube continues to lead the team in singles, going 11-4 overall - 9-2 in tournament play. Overall, the team sits at 33-41 in singles competition.
Franziska Ahrend / Chiara Dabrano are undefeated in dual doubles competition to start the spring season, hoping to continue their streak heading into the tournament.
Facing Our Demons
The Demon Deacons (6-2) also enter the tournament on a four-match winning streak, sweeping their latest matchup, 7-0, in North Carolina Central University.
Sitting 30-14 overall in singles competition, Wake Forest has four players (Anna Brylin - 6-0, Mia Ahmad - 3-0, Saby Nihalani - 3-0, Maddie Lynch 1-0) undefeated this season.
