Olivia Elliott Stays Flawless Through Three Days in Stetson

STETSON, Fla. – Olivia Elliott dominates through three days at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center, finishing a perfect 3-0 in singles in the Stetson Hatters Invitational for the Troy women's tennis team.

Friday kicked off the tournament for Elliott as she battled Larina Lancellotti for Saint Leo. Elliott lost the first set quickly, 2-6, before firing back to win the second set, 6-4. Both players went back and forth before Elliott clutched the victory, 10-8.

The next day, Elliott continued her momentum with another three-set battle. This time against Anny Syrova for Jacksonville State, Elliott found herself down early in the first set, losing 4-6. The second set was pivotal as she fired back with a tough 7-5 win to push it to an extra set. The third set was close until the junior took control to finish the job, 10-5.

Elliott wasn't done as she faced Stetson's Laetitia Rizk on Sunday. Despite falling again in the first set, 3-6, the London native made a comeback again, winning in straight sets, 6-3, 10-3, to finish a perfect, 3-0 in singles.

Outside of Elliott, Hagar Amin / Valeriia Avdeeva paired together to finish 2-1 in doubles on the weekend. Unfortunately, the pair started on the wrong end, losing 6-1 to Saint Leo's Luzia Obermeeier / Claudia Barbon Roca. However, the sophomore/freshman duo easily defeated Jacksonville State's Romane Mosse / Aryna Syrova 6-2. The third day had more of the same for the two as they won 6-2 against Serfina Shatsova / Polina Ramenskaja (JSU).

Amin also grabbed a singles win on Friday against Claudio Borbon (Saint Leo). The sophomore secured the first set, 6-2, before stealing away the sweep with a 7-6 (5) victory.

Franziska Ahrend joined Amin and Elliott with a singles victory at Stetson. Ahrend lined up against Stetson's Maxence Lippens on Sunday, having lost the previous two days. However, the graduate student flipped the script with an easy 6-2, 6-2 sweep to end her weekend on top.
