Women’s Tennis Enters Sun Belt Championship as No. 3 Seed

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Troy women's tennis has been named the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Championship, the conference announced Monday evening. The tournament, hosted in Rome, Ga., begins on Wednesday.
The Trojans will play in the quarterfinals on Friday, April 24 at 1:30 p.m. CT against the winner of No. 6 App State and No. 11 Southern Miss.
Troy enters the postseason with a 12-7 record and a 6-1 mark against Sun Belt opponents. Maria Guirguis has led the Trojans in singles, holding a 14-2 record this spring on Court 1. Her doubles partner, Valeriia Avdeeva is 11-3 overall and 10-2 on Court 2. The pair have put together a 17-9 record in doubles on Court 1.
