Troy Welcomes Southern-New Orleans in Lone Thanksgiving Week Game

TROY, Ala. – Troy men's basketball returns to the friendly confines of Trojan Arena after a four-game road trip on Tuesday night to battle Southern-New Orleans at 6 p.m.
The Knights (2-5) become the Trojans' (5-1) fifth first-ever meeting with an opponent this season. Tuesday also marks the chance for Troy to extend its unbeaten streak at home to 3-0.
Despite falling for the first time this season against St. Thomas, 78-76 in the Zootown Classic, the Trojans are off to their best start since the 2002-03 season.

Zootown Classic Champions
Troy ventured to Montana for a three-game series at the first-ever Zootown Classic against Merrimack, St. Thomas and Montana. Through three games, Troy was crowned champions, suffering only one loss to St. Thomas on a buzzer-beater.
Game one saw Troy dominate the Warriors of Merrimack, 73-54, with a 45.3 shooting percentage to their 33.3 percent. Kieffer Punter led the Trojans in scoring with 14 points as 10 different Trojans got involved on the scoresheet.
The Trojans suffered their first loss of the season to the Tommies on a last-second buzzer-beater, 78-76, from Andrew Rohde. Duke Miles tried to will his team to victory with 19 points, including the final nine points for Troy.
The Trojans' finale saw a tale of two halves as the team battled back from being down by six at the half to win the ballgame by double figures, 73-62. Five Trojans (Miles, Punter, Zay Williams, Nelson Phillips, Christyon Eugene) scored in double figures for the first time since Carver in 2019 to propel them to champions of the Zootown Classic based on point differential.
Five Game Losing Streak for SUNO
SUNO sits at 2-5 through the first seven games this season as the team enters Trojan Arena for the first time. After falling to LSU Alexandria on Saturday, the Knights currently ride a five-game losing streak.
The last win for the Knights came on the road at the Virgin Islands, 77-59 when the team shot 52.4 percent from the field as five players ended in double figures.
Bryce Brown ranks first on the SUNO roster in scoring with 11.6 points, with Devin Daniels (10.6) and Chaun Moore (10) behind him in double digits. Outside of scoring, Raheem Kone remains a defensive monster with 8.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.

• Zay Williams enters Tuesday just one block away from moving up to sixth all-time in Troy history in career blocks at 87.
• Phillips and Miles earned Zootown Classic All-Tournament team nods in Troy's 2-1 performance. Miles averaged 14 points, three rebounds and 2.3 assists, while Phillips had 11 points, five rebounds and 1.3 assists.
• Troy has been lights out offensively at home in its first two games. In two games, the Trojans averaged 91.5 points on 47.4 percent shooting.
• Christian Turner grabbed a career-high five steals against St. Thomas, becoming the first Trojan since Efe Odigie on Feb 10, 2022, to have five or more steals in a game.
