Troy hopes to ride the hot wave from last season when the team finished at 10-13, 4-6 SBC, which marked the most overall and conference since 2018-19. The team also battled its way to their second straight quarterfinal appearance, where they fell in a heartbreaker to the No. 3-seed UT-Arlington, 4-2.
With the departure of Michelle Ncube and Anastasiia Khokhlova for graduation, the Trojans look to returners in Olivia Elliott, Kristina Kukaras, Franziska Ahrend, Hagar Amin and Chiara Desia Dabarno to lead the charge. The Trojans also introduce their highly sought-after freshmen in Valeriia Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis.
Elliott was recently named team captain after an 8-9 record in dual singles last season. Meanwhile, Amin returns after an impressive freshman year that saw her named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year. The Egyptian native had a team-best 12-5 singles and 4-2 doubles record.
