Cross Country Preps for Blazer Classic

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's cross-country team will wrap up the regular season with the UAB Blazer Classic on Oct. 14 from Montevallo, Ala., and the Montevallo Cross Country Course.

The day starts at 9 a.m. with the women's 6k race followed by the men's 8k race at 9:40. Troy is coming off the Huntingdon invitational, which saw both the men and the women take home first-place finishes.

The Trojans have been regulars in the Blazer Classic dating back to 2018. In 2020 the women finished second, led by now-senior Cadi Rowe, who placed ninth with a time of 22:18.10. On the men's side, senior Mason Bennett was also a part of the 2020 squad as he paced the Trojans in the 8k race placing 77^th in 27:18.10.

Teanna Cason and James Brake will look to lead the Trojans once again after both took home first-place finishes last week. Troy will look to finish strong before they head to the Sun Belt Championships in two weeks time.
