Troy Women’s Basketball Stumbles Against Little Rock

TROY, Ala. – Despite 16 points from point guard Jasmine Robinson, Troy dropped a heartbreaking fourth-quarter thriller to Little Rock, 68-66, Thursday night in Trojan Arena.
With the loss, Troy (13-7, 4-2 Sun Belt) snapped a 16-game home win streak that dated back to the 2020-21 season. It marks the longest home win streak in Trojan Arena history.
Little Rock's (7-6, 2-1 Sun Belt) Raziya Potter led all scorers with 24 points.
Robinson paced the Trojans with a season-high 16 points. Felmas Koranga followed just behind with 12 points and nine rebounds.
How It Happened
Makes from Janiah Sandifer, Koranga and Tina Stephens gave Troy an early 7-2 lead with 7:23 to play in the opening quarter. Little Rock continued to put up a fight, slowly edging away at Troy's lead before taking a 10-9 advantage at the 4:57 mark. However, the Trojans of Troy closed the quarter out on a 6-0 run, capped off by a jumper from Jasmine Robinson, to gain a two-point lead at the end of the first 10 minutes of action.
Little Rock regained a two-point lead three minutes into the second quarter, but Troy refused to take its foot off the gas. After tying the game with 6:02 to play, Troy held Little Rock scoreless for the remainder of the half, sending the Trojans into the break with a 26-20 lead.
After Stephens extended Troy's lead to eight, Little Rock went on a 6-0 run to cut it to two with 7:22 to go in the third. Both sides traded buckets before a 4-0 Troy run gave the Trojans a 45-40 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes of action.
The Trojans and Trojans went toe-to-toe through the opening four minutes, but a pair of free throws from Little Rock's Angelique Francis tied the matchup at 54 all with 6:33 to play. A Tia Harvey three-pointer with 1:15 to go gave Little Rock a four-point lead, but Amber Leggett brought it back within one possession making 1-of-2 free throws.
Up by three, Little Rock fouled Tiyah Johnson to avoid the buzzer-beating three to send it to overtime. Johnson nailed both from the charity stripe. Down one, Troy fouled on the other end and forced a miss from Mayra Caicedo who made it just a two-point game. With six seconds on the clock, Jasmine Robinson drove into the paint looking to tie the game but the shot didn't fall.

They have a really good defense, and they executed their game plan well. I told the team the thing we have to learn from this is how to adjust. They had a great game plan."
Notable
· Troy outrebounded Little Rock 45-34, marking the Trojans first loss when outrebounding their opponent this season.
· Jhileiya Dunlap finished the game with three blocks, marking her 10th game with three or more blocks.
· Tonight marked the first time this season the Trojans have fallen in a game decided by four or fewer points. Troy entered the matchup 2-0 in games decided by less than four points.
