Troy Gears Up for Final Road Contest Against South Alabama

TROY, Ala. – The Troy Softball team will hit the road for Mobile to complete the series against rival South Alabama in the final road contest before the Sun Belt Conference Tournament next week.

After downing the Jaguars (25-16, 12-8 Sun Belt) in game one of the series back on April 7, the Trojans (33-12, 16-5 Sun Belt) will close out the season series Friday and Saturday at Jaguar Field. First pitch Friday is set for 6 p.m.

Senior Katie Webb continues to flash her dominance at the plate, batting at .386 with 14 doubles, five home runs and 32 RBIs. In conference play, the first baseman is batting at an impressive .415 clip with a hardy .506 on-base percentage.

In the circle, Leanna Johnson leads both the Trojans and the conference with a 1.58 overall ERA and 1.32 conference ERA. The righty has fanned 219 batters and pinned opponents to a .163 batting average over 150.2 innings of work.

SCOUTING THE JAGUARS:
South Alabama checks into the final regular season weekend after falling in all three games at Georgia Southern last week.

Meredith Keel leads the Jaguar offense batting at a .381 mark with seven doubles, a triple and eight RBIs. Abby Kryzwiecki and Kennedy Cronan prove to be the most critical hitters in the Jaguar lineup, each recording a team-high 25 RBIs.

Olivia Lackie resides at the helm of South Alabama's pitching staff. The freshman has notched a 1.93 ERA with 194 strikeouts over 148.1 innings of work.
