Softball Begins Fall Ball Schedule with Pair of Home Games

TROY, Ala. – Troy softball begins its fall ball season with a pair of home games at the Troy Softball Complex. First, Troy welcomes Wallace State – Hanceville on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 5:30 p.m., followed by Gadsden State on Friday, Oct. 2, at 4:30 p.m.
"The girls have been practicing hard and are looking forward to the start of the fall season," head coach Eric Newell said. "The buzz and excitement around this year's team has been palpable. Next week's junior college opponents will provide us with a great opportunity to compete and at the same time work on some things in a competitive environment."
Wallace State returns to action after last season ended in the Alabama Community College Conference Tournament Championship Game, losing on a walk-off hit in extra innings. Meanwhile, Gadsden State, another ACCC member, improved significantly last season, posting a 41-19 record in its second year back after reinstatement.

Past, Present and Future
The Trojans have 16 returners for the 2027 season, including four who earned postseason All-Sun Belt recognition in 2026, via Ella Cunningham, Makaley Boswell, Abby Lovell and Mia Tidmore.
Boswell led the team in most offensive statistics in 2026, including batting average (.386), doubles (17), home runs (7), RBIs and stolen bases (19). Meanwhile, Cunningham and Lovell covered 60 percent of the innings pitched for the Trojans in 2026.
Troy's eight newcomers are evenly split between transfers and freshmen. Transfers Avery Adcock and Emma King come from Power Four conferences, while Jadyn Rausch comes from Sun Belt peer, Southern Miss, and Bre Hughes comes from the JUCO ranks.
The Alabama pipeline is strong, contributing three freshmen in Ellie Cox, Mariah Harrison and Anna Jo Bonds, while Alivia Cooper comes from Kentucky.
