Â
In the top of the second, Georgia Tech answered, using a one-out walk and back-to-back singles to take a 2-1 lead.
Â
Needing a response, the Trojans used a leadoff walk by Figueroa and a single from Jenkins to spark the four-run frame.
Â
Georgia Tech answered with a two-out double to cut the Trojan advantage to just 5-3, but Troy used a triple from Lively and a single from Horne to take a 7-3 lead.

QUOTABLE – HEAD COACH BETH MULLINS
"It was two good games. We came up short in the first game. Our offense wasn't the best and we didn't make the adjustments quick enough or like we normally do. Leanna Johnson threw a good game. She just gave up the one big inning and those are tough to come back from. The thing I'm proudest of is our bounce back. Our girls were really mature and ready to go from the first inning. Jade Sinness got a hit and scored in that first inning, and we didn't look back. We answered back in the second game each time we needed to which shows the guts and grit that we have. The plan is for us to keep doing what we're doing. We have a really good App State team that we're going to go up and play this weekend. They have good pitching, good defense and good hitting. We're going to keep playing Troy softball. Hopefully we'll roll all of that grit, maturity and fight into this weekend."
