Trojans Drop Wild Series Finale to Panthers in Extras

Dalton Sinquefield logged a career day, making several spectacular defensive plays while batting in a career-high five runs on four hits, which also tied a career best. Rigsby Mosley had two multi-base hits with a pair of doubles while Caleb Bartolero and Nic Nolan each tallied three RBIs.
All nine batters in Troy's lineup hit safely in the contest, five of which recorded multi-hit games. Sinquefield, Nolan, Clay Stearns and Easton Kirk all homered, marking the second time this season Troy has registered four longballs in a game.
Troy (16-18, 4-8 SBC) finished with 16 hits, eight of which went for extra-bases, and scored at least 10 runs for the eighth time this season. The Trojans' 15 runs are the most in a loss since Troy fell 11-16 against UT Arlington in 2018.
The Trojans did most of their damage with two outs on the scoreboard with 10 two-out RBIs in the contest.
Georgia State (10-27, 6-6 SBC) seemed to take control of the game with a grand slam in the fourth inning to take a 9-5 lead, but Troy came roaring back to step in front again with two runs in the fifth and a seven-spot in the sixth. The Panthers crossed eight of the game's final nine runs, however, capped by a two-run, walk-off homer to center field.
Matt Snell (0-1) suffered the loss after surrendering the deciding runs in the final inning while Chandler Dawson (1-3) notched the win for Georgia State.

"That was a tough loss. Give Georgia State credit, we had a five-run lead in the eighth and they rallied to tie the game. I hate it for Matt Snell, the home run in the tenth wasn't a bad pitch, their guy just made a play. The park certainly played small today, both teams hit some home runs. I hate it for our kids. They battled like crazy to win this game and we couldn't close it out."

Dalton Sinquefield logged a career-high five RBIs while tying his career high in hits (4). The senior tallied two extra-base hits in the contest with a home run and double and scored three runs.
Notable
- The 10-inning affair marked Troy's first extra inning game of the season. It was the Trojans' longest game of the season at three hours and 49 minutes.
- All nine of Troy's starters hit safely in a game for the first time since 2020 against Northern Kentucky.
- Troy hit four home runs in a game for the third time this season. Clay Stearns (6), Easton Kirk (3) and Dalton Sinquefield (4) all added to their season home run totals while Nic Nolan recorded his first as a Trojan.
- With two doubles in the game, Rigsby Mosley now has 51 in his career, one shy of tying Drew Frederic for fourth all-time in program history.
- Troy has now scored seven runs in an inning twice this season (March 13 vs. Tulane).
- Drew Frederic has now reached base in all 34 games this season and has reached base in 43 consecutive games dating back to last season. The senior is now one hit away from tying, and two away from breaking, Adam Bryant's all-time program hits record (276).
Troy continues its road trip with an in-state rivalry contest at Jacksonville State Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Jacksonville. Ala.
