GREENSBORO, Ga. – Brent Hamm became Troy's first individual medalist winner since the 2012-13 season as he fired a 7-under 65 in Tuesday's final round of the National Intercollegiate at the National Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee to move into a tie for first at the top of the leaderboard.
Hamm carded a pair of eagles – both on par-5 holes – and six birdies to erase a six-shot deficit that he faced heading into the final round. Hamm was in the clubhouse tied with UT Martin's Nick Wolf, the nation's 100th-ranked player, while he still had four holes to play. Wolf birdied No. 15 to take a one-shot lead but gave the stroke back with a bogey on the par-4 17th.
Hamm's 7-under par is the second-best round in school history ranking just behind his 8-under from earlier in the season. The sophomore's 12-under 204 is the best by a Trojan golfer since at least the 2005-06 season.

The Trojans finished third as a team in their best performance of the 2020-21 campaign and Troy's 288 on Tuesday was the second-lowest round from the 13-team field on the day. Hamm finished with 15 birdies – the third most in the field – while Will McFadden also had double-digit birdies with 10.
McFadden picked up his second top 10 finish of the year as he tied for ninth place at even par for the week after his second straight 1-under 71. He now has six rounds under par in five spring tournaments.
Ryan Morrison provided some solid play in the middle of the Trojan lineup with a 6-over 222 for the week to finish in a tie for 29th place. Nicklas Borrmann carded an eagle and three birdies as he shot 5-over on the day to finish tied for 40th. George Burch and Reagan Harrell both tied for 53rd at 14-over for the tournament.
Troy's 866 team effort for the week is its best of the year by four shots and its two rounds of even-par 288 are tied for the second-best team rounds of the year.
The Trojans have one more opportunity to fine tune their game before the Sun Belt Championship as they travel to the Old Screw Invitational in Estero, Fla., April 12-13.
