Inaugural First Pitch Banquet Announced for Jan. 28

TROY, Ala. – Troy Athletics is proud to announce the inaugural First Pitch Banquet to support and recognize the Trojan baseball and softball programs. The event, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, will take place in Trojan Arena.

The event will highlight the upcoming seasons for the baseball program under first-year head coach and the softball program, which is coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Beth Mullins. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive Troy memorabilia, gameday experiences and more in a silent auction. Additionally, attendees can mix and mingle with players and coaches from both teams and sit in on question-and-answer sessions with select players.

"We are incredibly excited to be a part of the initial kickoff banquet with our softball team," Meade said. "Beth's program has been on the up and up, especially with last year's Regional bid. It will be a great night to showcase both of our programs, the people who make it click, and build momentum on the exciting brands that are Troy Baseball and Troy Softball. I want to give a special thanks to our great administration, Dr. & Mrs. Hawkins, and so many others for making this night a reality."

Those wishing to attend the banquet can purchase individual tickets for $75 or a full table (six seats) for $450 – a member of the baseball and softball team will be seated at each table. Table sponsorships are also available for $1,000, which includes one table, recognition at the banquet via the ribbonboards and videoboard. Dinner and drinks are included with the price of each ticket.

"We are really excited about the inaugural First Pitch Banquet," Mullins said. "It is going to be a fun and classy event to kick off a very exciting season of Troy Softball and Troy Baseball. This is a great opportunity to meet our fans and showcase our student-athletes and great programs. We are very grateful to Dr. and Mrs Hawkins and everyone in the Troy Athletic Department for hosting what we know will be an amazing night."

The Troy softball team opens its season Feb. 11 with the annual Troy Invitational, while the Troy baseball team opens its season a week later (Feb. 18) with a four-game series against Holy Cross.
