Cross Country Prepped for Sun Belt Championships

TROY, Ala. – After a week-long hiatus following the FSU XC Invite/Pre Nationals, the Troy men's and women's cross country squads are prepped and ready for the 2021 Sun Belt Cross Championships at the Old Brookley Golf Course.
Both squads faced top-ranked competition at FSU's XC Invite/Pre Nationals to prepare for the league championships.
On the men's side, Mason Bennett led the way with a 170th-place finish in 27:05.5, an 8k personal best. Blake Vaughn and James Brake rounded out Troy's top-three finishers with times of 27:10.1 and 27:16.9. Brake's time also marked an 8k personal best.
Cadi Rowe paced the women with a 151st-place finish in 23:34.9. Tanner Guest and Teanna Cason rounded at the Trojans' top-three finishes placing 172nd and 199th, respectively.
The women will kickstart the Sun Belt Championship in a 6k race at 10 a.m. The men will then follow with their 8k trek at 11 a.m.
The meet will be streamed through ESPN+.
