TROY, Ala. – What a difference a day can make. After falling in the season opener on Friday, Troy completely flipped the script on Saturday, dominating Appalachian State from start to finish to earn the 85-65 victory in the series finale inside Trojan Arena.
A trio of Troy student-athletes either set new career marks, or tied already impressive statistics, in Troy's win over App State. Tyasia Moore had her best game in the Cardinal and White, setting career-highs in points scored (22), rebounds (13) and assists (4). Her 22 points scored was a game-high and her double-double was the first of her career. Janiah Sandifer tied her career-high with 19-points while adding three assists, three rebounds and a blocked shot. Sandifer set a career-best with five made three-pointers. Felmas Koranga battled back on Saturday after a tough game Friday night with a career-high 18-points and 14 rebounds to earn her second career double-double.
The win improves Troy's record to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the Sun Belt while it drops App State to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the SBC. The win was Troy's 11th in the series and it now leads App State, 11-2 all-time.
Troy got out of the gates on Saturday in a hurry, scoring a season-high 27 points in the first quarter, highlighted by a 14-0 run to open the game with six of those first 14 coming from Moore. Rebounding was a major focal point for the team coming in after being outrebounded the night before as they held a 16-5 advantage on the boards in the first and ended the game outrebounding App 55-30.
After getting outscored in the second, 19-16, and then seeing App State score 10 of the first 13 points in the third to cut the Trojan lead to eight, the closest it would be for the remainder of the game, Troy began to regroup, going on a 13-3 run to extend its lead to 19 to blow the game open. Troy eventually extended its lead to game-high 23 late in the fourth on its way to a 20-point victory.

On the overall win
"We wanted to do a good job answering the bell and come in here today like we were going to win the game and not like we had lost yesterday and so I have to salute the team because they did a great job of that and brought great energy. The word of the day was rebound, we don't like the fact that we got outrebounded yesterday and I think they answer that really well."
On all the career night
"What we are really proud of is that we have a guard like Janiah hitting shots like that and playing on both ends of the floor. Tyasia, it was only a matter of time before she put a full game together. She's come out and had six quick points and then she would hide for a while and that's what we challenged her with today to have a complete game and play the complete game that she did."
