Troy Adds Series at Florida State to 2021 Schedule

TROY, Ala. – Troy has filled the lone open weekend on its 2021 schedule with a series at Florida State, head coach Mark Smartt announced Tuesday. The series, which will see the Trojans visit Tallahassee from April 30-May 2, replaces a midweek contest between the schools originally scheduled for March 10.
"The opportunity to play Florida State presented itself with all the COVID-19 related scheduling issues that emerged once decisions about the 2021 season were made around the country," Smartt said. "This series upgrades our schedule and provides our team a great opportunity to compete against one of the best baseball programs in America."
Troy and Florida State last met in 2018 for a three-game series in Tallahassee. The Seminoles are ranked inside the preseason top 25 by Perfect Game (No. 21) and D1Baseball (No. 24).
The Trojans' non-conference slate is one of its strongest in recent history, with four opponents inside Collegiate Baseball's preseason top 50. In addition to its road series against Florida State (No. 28), Troy will play a home-and-home against Alabama (No. 27) and home series against UCF (No. 32) and Tulane (No. 43).
Troy opens its season Feb. 19 when it hosts Youngstown State for a four-game series at Riddle-Pace Field.
