TROY, Ala. – A trio of Trojans placed within the top six to power the women's cross country team to a second place finish while the men placed fourth Saturday at the John 'Doc' Anderson Invite on Troy University's campus.
This race marked the first home meet for the Trojans since 2016.
Macki Walsh led the women's squad for the second consecutive race with a fourth-place finish in 19:43.34.
Cadi Rowe and Gracie Booher clocked in just behind Walsh with a fifth and sixth place finish in 19:50.90 and 19:51.84, respectively.
Kara Moore also landed inside the top ten with a tenth-place finish in 20:35.75.
The women tallied 37 total points in route to a second-place finish just behind in-state foe UAB.
On the men's side, Mason Bennett led the Trojans in 28:01.87 with an 18th-place finish.
Sage Delfino and Mamush Galloway rounded out Troy's top-three finishes placing 28th and 31st, respectively.
The men tallied 111 points for a fourth-place finish.
Quotable – Head Coach Elliott Blount
"To get back out here on our home course for the first time in a while was nice. The men still have some work to do; we've had a slow start to the season. I like where the women are at. We lost to a competitive UAB team, but overall, I am happy where we are."

Both squads take a three-week break before traveling to Montevallo, Alabama for the UAB Blazer Classic on Friday, October 16.
