Troy Set for Pair of Midweeks Against FAMU, Samford

TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team returns to action with a pair of midweek matchups Tuesday at home against Florida A&M and at Samford Wednesday.
The Trojans (15-6, 1-2) are set to take on the Lady Rattlers at 5 p.m. Tuesday before heading to Birmingham, Ala., to take on the Bulldogs at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Troy opened up conference play last weekend at UT Arlington taking the first game of the series before falling on Saturday and Sunday.
Jade Sinness led the Trojans offensively in the opening weekend of conference play batting a .444 mark with two home runs and a team-best five RBI.
Leanna Johnson (9-3) continues to sit at the top of national rankings with six shutouts. The sophomore also ranks ninth in saves (3) and 12th in strikeouts (116).

- Florida A&M (3-16) comes into the midweek tilt after picking up their third win of the season over UT-Chattanooga on Sunday. The Lady Rattlers are led by Jamesiaa Stoudemire batting .317 with a pair of home runs and six RBI. Nadia Zenteno sees most of the action in the circle tossing 40.1 innings with a 6.69 ERA.
- Samford (9-15) checks into the midweek contest after falling to Maryland on Sunday. Offensively, the Bulldogs are led by Whitney Hinton who bats a .383 clip with four doubles, five home runs and 20 RBI. Abby Swaney leads the way in the circle with a 2.93 ERA over 46 innings of work.
