ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington downs Troy, 7-3, to win the last two of three and earn the series win Sunday at Allan Saxe Field.

The teams battled toe-for-toe until the top of the fourth inning where the Trojans (15-6, 1-2) plated a pair of runs off a string of four consecutive hits by Katie Webb, Jade Sinness, Kelly Horne and Meagan Patterson.

UTA (11-13, 2-1) answered in the bottom half of the inning to gain the lead with a three-run home run by K.J. Murphy.

Webb singled to score Candela Figueroa who got on with a single to tie the game in the top of the fifth, but the Mavericks turned in three runs in the bottom of the fifth and a run in the bottom of the sixth to earn the series win.

Leanna Johnson (9-3) suffered the loss allowing six runs on seven hits over 4.2 innings of work while JoJo Valencia (4-6) saw her fourth win of the season pitching one shutout inning before Allie Gardiner (SV 2) closed out the final two innings of action.

Notable

Katie Webb led the Trojans at the plate going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Troy's home run streak came to end after blasting home runs in 10 consecutive games. The 10-game stretch marked the longest home run since at least 2008.

The Trojans head back home to take on Florida A&M Tuesday at the Troy Softball Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
