Troy Heads to North Carolina for Camel City Invite

Troy, Ala. – After a weekend off, the Troy track and field team returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. This will be the Trojans' final indoor tune-up before the Sun Belt Championships in two and a half weeks.

Troy will compete against runners from Duke, Virginia Tech, Florida, NC State, Wake Forest, High Point, Richmond and more.
Junior Kara Coulter and sophomore Caroline Sall will begin the day for the Trojans in the women's 5000m at 1 p.m. Macki Walsh will headline a trio of Trojans in the women's 3000m after the junior broke the school record in the event at the Vulcan Invite with a time of 10:05.10.
Michael Alvernaz and Caleb Brown will headline the men's weight throw Friday afternoon. The pair are seeded second and third in the event, respectively, having two of the three longest throws of the year by competing athletes.
Freshman sprinter Jasmine Riley is another Trojan fans should keep an eye on. Riley has a handful of top-three finishes in the 60m and 200m this season and enters with the fastest 60m time of the year among fellow runners.
Troy's men's and women's 4x400m relay will close out the meet Saturday afternoon. The women are seeded first while the men are seeded second.
