Notes: Women's Basketball Closes Out 2019-20 Home Schedule Saturday

TROY, Ala. – The 2019-20 home schedule for Troy women's basketball is coming to a close Saturday afternoon. The Trojans will host Arkansas State at 4 p.m. inside Trojan Arena while honoring their five seniors prior to the game as well as past letter winners at halftime.

The Trojans earned their 21st win of the season Thursday night in an 18-point victory over traditional Sun Belt power, Little Rock. Troy was led by junior Alexus Dye who recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 16-points and 17 rebounds, a career-high. After a slow start to her season where she averaged just 7.5 points per game in the first 16 games of the year, Dye has become a force for the Trojans since mid-January, averaging 13.5 points per game and 10 rebounds in the last 9-games with five of her seven double-doubles coming in that stretch.

Arkansas State enters Saturday with an overall record of 9-16 and a Sun Belt record of 6-8. They have lost five-straight games since beating Coastal Carolina and ULM. Arkansas State defeated Coastal Carolina at home back on Jan. 25, 63-61, on a buzzer beater that made the ESPN Top 10 plays. Jireh Washington has scored in double figures in seven straight games, as well as 11 of her last 13. Four of Arkansas State's nine wins have come after facing deficits of seven or more. Three of those four were deficits of 10 or greater. The Red Wolves rank first in the Sun Belt Conference in total steals (238) and steals per game (9.52). Arkansas State has swiped 10 or more steals in 15 games, including 10 of their last 15 games. The Red Wolves are among the least selfish teams in the Sun Belt Conference, ranking fifth in the league in assists per game (12.16) and seventh in total assists (304). Jireh Washington ranks fifth in the league in assists per game (3.84) and total assists (96).

In earning their 83rd career win they surpassed last year's senior group that won 82 games in four years
• With a win on Saturday Troy would earn its 12th home victory of the season, tying the record for most home wins in a season. It would also be the 2nd straight year winning 12 home games and just the 5th time in program history
• Troy has defeated Arkansas State in 7 straight games, before that they hadn't won more than two in a row while Arkansas State had two winning streaks of 4 games. In Troy's 7 straight wins they have outscored Ark State 656-559
• In their last 56 Sun Belt Conference home games, Troy has earned 46 wins to just 10 losses dating back to the 2014-15 season. They have gone 10-1 in home games in two of the last three seasons
