Men's Tennis Narrowly Falls at Stetson on Sunday

DELAND, Fla. – The Troy men's tennis team fell to 2-3 on the young season after losing a close battle to Stetson, 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in DeLand, Fla.
The Trojans got things started in doubles on Sunday. After falling at the No. 2 double position Troy was able to even things up as Pelayo Antuna and Carles Anton earned a 6-2 victory. The Trojans ended up losing the doubles point after falling on court one.
Trialing by a point after double the Trojans got things started in singles with a point from Oskar Michalek on court two. After falling behind 2-1 with a loss at No. 6 singles the Trojans again tied the match at two when Antuna got a straight-sets win at the No. 1 spot. After Stetson retook the lead with a win on court four Troy once again tied the match on court three as Anton remained perfect on the year. Troy was unable to rally on court five as Javier Llinares fell in a three-set heartbreaker and sealing the victory for Stetson on Sunday.
