Troy Hosts South Alabama for Senior Weekend

TROY, Alabama – Troy closes out the regular season with two games against South Alabama at the Troy Softball Complex this weekend. Play will begin Friday at 6 p.m. and will conclude Saturday at 1 p.m. as Troy honors seniors Stephanie Snyder, Taylor Corbett, Claire Graves, Kaylee Hussey, Peyton Glover and Madeline Porter.

Troy (35-18, 17-8 Sun Belt) took the opening game of the series against South Alabama (18-29, 7-18) on April 10^th after the Trojans downed the Jaguars, 3-2.

Talia Truitt leads the offensive efforts batting a .338 with 50 hits, a double and three RBIs while Bailey Taylor leads the team in RBIs with 40 batting a .322 with eight doubles and a team-high six home runs.

Leanna Johnson (24-7) continues to dominate in the circle coming in with a 2.05 ERA over 194.2 innings of work. The freshman ranks seventh nationally in victories with 24 and 17th nationally in strikeouts with 211.

Scouting the Jaguars
The Jaguars come into the matchup after winning the series against Georgia Southern this past weekend. Brittani Reid leads the efforts at the plate batting a .384 with 17 doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 29 RBIs.

Alexis Reid spends the majority of the time in the circle for the Jaguars and leads the pitching staff in wins with ten. Reid has recorded a 3.86 ERA with 81 strikeouts over 166.2 innings of work.

Friday night will be Foodie Friday! The first 100 fans to the Troy Softball Complex will receive a free Moon Pie! Be there to see new head men's basketball coach Scott Cross throw out the first pitch.

Alongside Senior Day, Saturday will be Star Wars Day. The first 200 fans will receive Troy Star Wars themed t-shirt! Senior day festivities will precede the game.
