Troy Returns to Action Thursday vs Appalachian State

GAME NOTES

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's basketball team aims to finish strong as it hosts the final two home games of the regular season beginning with a 6 p.m. Thursday matchup against Appalachian State.

The Trojans (20-7, 11-5 SBC) defeated Texas State before falling to UT Arlington last week. Troy continue to pace the league in scoring averaging 81.7 points per game, sixth-best in the NCAA. Over the last five games Jasmine LeBlanc and Jasmine Robinson have stepped up to lead the team. Robinson is averaging 9.8 points per game, while LeBlanc is close behind with 9.4.

Appalachian State (15-12, 9-7) has won three straight games, including an 83-69 win over Louisiana on Saturday. The Mountaineers are third in the league averaging 42.3 rebounds per game and possess the best rebounding in the conference in Bayley Plummer, who enters the game averaging a Sun Belt-best 11.9 boards per game.

With two games to play, Troy is third in the league standings and can only drop a spot if it loses both games this week and Georgia State defeats Georgia Southern on Saturday. The Trojans cannot move any higher than third.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Appalachian State enters the game as the second-hottest team in the league having won its last three game, second to only UT Arlington's four-game winning streak. The Mountaineers defeated Louisiana on Senior Day, 83-69, Saturday. Ashley Polacek scored a team-high 15 points to go along with eight assists. Polacek is second in the Sun Belt averaging 4.7 assists per game.
