CONWAY, South Carolina – Kelly Horne's two out two-run home run powered Troy over Coastal Carolina, 5-3, to complete the Sun Belt Conference sweep Sunday afternoon at Charles Wade-John Lott Field. It's Troy's first sweep in conference play since Troy swept Appalachian State last season.

Coastal Carolina (23-9, 4-5 Sun Belt) tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run home run by Taylor Sweigart, but Horne answered in the top of the sixth with a two out, two-run homer that scored Kaylee Hussey who led off the frame with a double.

Troy (21-13, 5-4) got on the board in the top of the first with a two-run long ball by Katie Webb that scored Madeline Porter who led off with a double to right field; it was Webb's first home run of the season.

The Chanticleers cut the lead in half in the bottom of the third with hits by Sweigart and Courtney Dean.

Troy added another run in the top of the fifth with hits by Kaylee Chapman and Porter before a Chanticleer home run tied the game in the bottom half of the inning.

Leanna Johnson earned the start for Troy and recorded six strikeouts. Kynsley Rae Blasingame (2-0) worked around a jam in the fifth to record the final out of the inning and pick up the win. Claire Graves (1) earned her first save of the season after only allowing one hit in the final two innings of play.

Kaitlin Beasley-Polko (14-6) suffered the loss for the Chanticleers after she allowed five runs off seven hits and five walks.

The Trojans return to the Troy Softball Complex for an eight-game homestand kicked off by a midweek tilt Wednesday against North Alabama at 5 p.m.

"I thought It was just a really solid three game series for us on the road after a really tough week last week," head coach Beth Mullins said. "We had good pitching and defense and had really solid hitting all throughout the lineup all weekend. We are going to go home continue to work and get prepared for this next week."

Stephanie Snyder finished the week batting .500 with five walks, a double and three RBIs.
Kaylee Hussey added six RBIs to her resume after hitting three doubles and a home run this weekend.
