Troy Falls in Series Finale to No. 10 Louisiana

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – Louisiana's Bailey Curry recorded five RBIs including a walk-off two-run home run to close out the series finale with a win over Troy Sunday afternoon at Yvette Girouard Field.
Bailey Curry started off the game with an RBI double to put Louisiana (23-3, 6-0) on the board in the bottom of the first inning.
Curry added to the lead with a sacrifice fly that scored Kara Gremillion in the bottom of the third.
Home runs by Lexie Comeaux in the fourth, Kara Gremillion in the fifth, and the walk off by Bailey Curry capped off the scoring for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Summer Ellyson (17-3) was the winning pitcher for all three games of the series. Ellyson ended the final game with three strikeouts after scattering four hits.
Leanna Johnson (12-5) suffered the loss for Troy (18-12, 2-4) after giving up six runs off of six hits. Johnson added three more strikeouts to her resume after coming into the weekend ranked sixth nationally.
Troy heads back home for a Tuesday afternoon game against Georgia Tech. Troy will square off against the Yellow Jackets at 5 p.m.

Notes
- Kaylee Hussey recorded a hit in all three games of the series this weekend. Hussey currently holds the longest hitting streak on the team. Hussey also reached base in all four games this week.
- Freshman Katie Lively is on a four-game reached base stretch dating back to her home run last weekend against ULM.
- Freshman Adia Polk earned her first start as Trojan in the designated player spot today.
