Final Results
COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – Troy's hot start at the Intercollegiate at The Grove was stalled by a canceled round on Monday, and the Trojans slipped four spots into sixth place following Tuesday's final round of the rain-shortened event.
The Trojans, who were tied for second after the first round, shot 12-over on Tuesday. Troy did pick up some key regional victories over Middle Tennessee and Louisiana Tech at the event.
Connor Futrell led the Trojans for the third time in four tournaments this fall as he tied for 10thplace at even par. The Troy junior carded five birdies in the round to finish with eight over the two-round tournament. Futrell has played nine of his 11 rounds this season at or below par.
Jake Tiffin and Will McFadden tied for 24thplace overall at 4-over par. Tiffin carded four birdies in Tuesday's final round and shot 3-over while McFadden had a pair of birdies and shot 5-over. Ryan Morrison tied for 58thplace at 11-over after a final round 79 and Brent Hamm tied for 63rdafter shooting 4-over on the day.
Troy's two individuals, Bryson Bianco and Kyle Cornelius, finished in a tie for 69thplace and 87thplace, respectively.
Tennessee won the team title by 16 shots over Lamar with Western Kentucky and Lipscomb tying for third place.
Troy wraps up its fall schedule in two weeks with a trip to the Pinetree Intercollegiate hosted by Kennesaw State on Oct. 21-22.
