Troy Battles Jacksonville State Tuesday

TROY, Alabama – The Troy soccer team treks north to face in-state rival Jacksonville State in a team's lone Tuesday night match of the season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on the OVC Digital Network.
The Trojans (1-4-0) have dropped four straight games since winning the season opener at Jacksonville and are coming off a 5-2 loss to Ole Miss last Thursday. Troy has faced a tough schedule early on with its losses coming to opponents sporting a 18-5-1 combined record.

On Thursday, the Trojans got off to a good start scoring first against Ole Miss, but the Rebels answered with three goals in the second half to pull away. Freshman Kendra Cashion got Troy on the board in the 15thminute with her first career goal. Ally Bayer scored the second goal for the Trojans in the 56thwith Cashion earning the assist.Â

Jacksonville State (2-2-1) will be playing its second of three home matches in a seven-day span as it dropped a 1-0 decision to North Alabama last Friday night and will face Samford on Friday, September 7 at the JSU Soccer Field.Â
