TROY, Ala. – Troy was just barely edged on Friday afternoon against UNC-Wilmington after one singles loss went three sets and another went unfinished in a 4-2 defeat.

After winning three-straight and four of the past five, the Trojans (5-7) got off to a slow start as Amer Bedwan and Andy Lau dropped their doubles match 6-3 while Jiaqi Duan and Pelayo Antuna fell 6-2 to lose the doubles point.

Oskar Michalek lost his singles match in excruciating fashion as the sophomore was beaten 4-6, 7-6, 7-5. The skid continued after Antuna fell 6-3, 6-2 while Lau was defeated 6-4 in straight sets.

Jiaqi Duan held on to collect a point as he won 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 in a tight battle while Bedwan also gutted out a three-set victory by picking up a 6-2, 6-7, 6-1 win.

Belcora was locked into a three-set match of his own, but Lau fell 6-4 in straight-sets while Antuna was defeated 6-3, 6-2 to prevent the chance for Belcora to help secure a second-straight home win.
