Troy Struggles At Home In Loss To South Alabama

TROY, Ala. – Following a 4-2 loss to UNC-Wilmington on Friday, Troy was unable to get back into the winning ways as the Trojans dropped a 4-1 match to rival South Alabama on Saturday.

The Trojans (5-8) only point of the game came in doubles play as Andy Lau and Amer Bedwan put together a 6-4 win while Jiaqi Duan and Pelayo Antuna followed suit with a win by the same score.

In getting shutout in singles play, Troy was only able to extend one match past the second set as the Jaguars (8-5) picked up wins in the first three matches and earned the winning point in the fifth match.

Bedwan won his first set 6-2 before dropping the second set 1-6. He was leading 2-1 in the third set, but the match went unfinished following South Alabama's clinching point.
