Men's Golf Under Par on Final Day of Tiger Invitational

Final Results
OPELIKA, Alabama – Troy fired a season-best 3-under 285 to climb into eighth place following Tuesday's final round of the Tiger Invitational at the Grand National Lakes Course. Calum Masters and Connor Futrell both turned in cards under par to lead the Trojans who had their best finish of the year.
Futrell opened on fire as he raced out to 5-under par through his first six holes of the day, which was delayed several hours due to rain. After a double-bogey pushed him to 3-under, Futrell rallied for two birdies around a bogey for his best round of the season; he finished tied for 48th.
Masters, who shot a 68 in Monday's round, made the turn at 1-over, but carded four birdies on the back nine to shot 2-under and finish tied for 23rd overall. Masters finished tied with Futrell with 12 birdies over the course of the event.
Dean Martin had three birdies on the day and shot 1-over to finish at 3-over for the tournament and tied for 31st place. Ike Alexander tied for 62nd place after shooting 7-over on Tuesday, while Mac Murphy fired his best round of the season with a 2-over 74 thanks to four birdies to finish tied for 74th.
No. 9 Auburn ran away with the team title finishing 25 shots ahead of Georgia State. Mississippi State, Kennesaw State and Maryland rounded out the top five. Troy finished just a shot behind Charlotte for seventh place.
The Trojans will take a small break before traveling to Eatonton, Ga., for the Linger Longer Invitational hosted by Kennesaw State on March 18-20.
