Troy Earns Key Road Win Monday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Troy went on the road and snapped a two-game skid with a commanding 4-1 win over USC-Spartanburg on Monday to improve to 6-8 on the season.

Doubles play saw Andy Lau and Amer Bedwan narrowly pull out a 7-5 win while Oskar Michalek and Mustapha Belcora clinched the point with a narrow victory of their own at 6-4.

The Trojans made quick work in singles play as Troy picked up all three wins in the 2-4 slots. Pelayo Antuna had to workout a 7-6 win in the first set before clinching his point with a 6-0 win in the second set.

Lau had one of his best outings of the season with a 6-2 win in straight sets to pick up his team-leading ninth win in dual play. Bedwan was there to clinch the match with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win.
