Trojans Wrap Up Road Swing in Defeat to Liberty

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Troy women's team (0-4) could not overcome Liberty (3-3), as the Flames swept the Trojans 7-0 on Sunday at the Crosswhite Athletic Club.
The doubles point went to Liberty as Jiayuan Xue and Efriliya Herlina finished first, falling 6-1 to Maria Medina and Lara Soares. Rebekah Anderson and Grace Hashiguchi clinched the doubles point for the Flames defeating freshmen Pei Ju Hsieh and Matea Mihaljavic 6-3. Sane Ohta and Nancy Karaky's match went unfinished at 5-5 after Liberty Claimed the first point of the day.
In singles play, Ohta rallied after falling in set one to even the match, but her opponent from Liberty ultimately took the win on court one 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. Mihaljavic also battled after dropping early, but Soares earned the tiebreaking win 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4) on court four.
Maria Casas Blas earned a first set 6-3 win, but eventually dropped in a tiebreak match, as Miroshnichenko defeated the freshman 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9)
