TROY, Alabama – Troy was lethal offensively and suffocating on defense in a 92-67 win over Tennessee State in Trojan Arena on Friday.
Amber Rivers scored 16 first half point and finished with a game-high 19, while Kate Rodgers turned in a career-high 12 rebounds for the Trojans. Five Troy players finished in double digits with Japonica James scoring a career-high 12 points as Jasmine Robinson, Shaterrika O'Neal and Harriet Winchester added 10 points each.
For the second straight game, Troy's defense forced more turnovers than field goals allowed as the Tigers were just 20-of-69 (29 percent) from the field and turned the ball over 21 times. On Monday, Samford made just 18 baskets while handing the ball over 19 times.

The Trojans held Tennessee State to just two field goals on 14 attempts in the first 11 minutes of play. Led by Rivers' three treys, Troy hit nine triples for the game.
A Shawnta Shaw layup with 3:13 remaining in the half opened the deficit lead to 24 as Troy never trailed in the contest. The Trojans led by as many as 27 points in the third quarter and landed 34 points in the paint for the game.
