Women’s Basketball Reveals Complete 2026-27 Schedule

TROY, Ala. – With its eyes on a fourth straight postseason appearance, the Troy women's basketball team revealed its complete 2026-27 schedule, highlighted by two SEC foes in LSU and Mississippi State and a pair of nonconference in-season tournaments.
"I'm thankful for this nonconference schedule," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "It gives our very young team opportunities to compete while learning. But it also pits them against some of the nation's best competition. We have a very young, but very talented team this year. Our nonconference schedule both prepares us and challenges us."
After a pair of scrimmages and a home exhibition (Oct. 27) against Tuskegee, the Trojans open the 2026-27 season on Monday, Nov. 2, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center for their second MAC-SBC Challenge matchup with Kent State. They follow it with their home opener against Thomas on Thursday, Nov. 5.
In the next three games, Troy hits the road, starting with its first SEC opponent, Mississippi State. The Trojans have defeated the Bulldogs three times, which includes their last meeting in 2021, 73-66, on the road. They've also taken down a different SEC opponent in each of the last two seasons (Missouri – 2025-26, Arkansas – 2024-25).
A Friday matchup on Nov. 13 at Belmont sits in between Troy's second SEC foe, LSU. LSU comes off a trip to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament, where the team was the No. 2 seed in the Sacramento Region.
In 2025-26, the Trojans rallied from a 23-point deficit to defeat Longwood. Now, the Trojans invite the Lancers to Trojan Arena on Thursday, Nov. 19. Then, the Trojans head to Reno, Nev., for their first in-season tournament via the Nugget Classic. In the Lawlor Events Center, Troy takes on UC Davis (Nov. 27) for the first time in program history before taking on host Nevada (Nov. 29).
Troy returns home for a brief date with Alabama State (Dec. 5) and returns to the road for the University of San Diego Tournament. With two games on back-to-back days, the Trojans battle their second 2026 NCAA Tournament team in Colorado State on Dec. 12 – the Rams entered as the No. 12 seed before losing to Michigan State in the first round. The next day, Troy returns to Jenny Craig Pavilion to face Oral Roberts for its fourth first-ever meeting to close the nonconference schedule.
Sun Belt play begins Dec. 16 as Troy invites ULM to Trojan Arena before heading to Atlanta for its first road league matchup at Georgia State (Dec. 19).
The 2026 calendar year closes against Marshall on Dec. 30, while 2027 opens with a 2025-26 SBC Championship Game rematch against James Madison – both games are set in Trojan Arena.
Troy heads on its longest road trip of SBC play over the next two weeks, traveling to Coastal Carolina (Jan. 6), Georgia Southern (Jan. 9), Southern Miss (Jan. 13) and Arkansas State (Jan. 16).
A two-week road span briefly ends with a home date against App State on Jan. 23. Then, the Trojans return to the road en route to the Bayou State, facing ULM (Jan. 28) and Louisiana Tech (Jan. 30).
Trojan Arena welcomes back its Trojans as they face in-state rival South Alabama on Feb. 3 before they await their second MAC-SBC Challenge opponent on Feb. 6.
Louisiana and South Alabama await the Trojans for their final road swing on Feb. 11 and Feb. 13, respectively. Then, Troy closes out its regular season with four straight home games against Southern Miss (Feb. 17), Arkansas State (Feb. 20), Louisiana Tech (Feb. 23) and Louisiana (Feb. 26).
The 30-game season leads to Pensacola, Fla., where the Trojans will battle in the Sun Belt Tournament from March 2-8.
