MOBILE, Alabama – Troy got a second half goal from Kate Lorenz as the Trojans downed South Alabama, 1-0, at The Cage on Friday.Â

Lorenz gave Troy the game's lone goal in the 57thminute. Natalie Melillo sent in a corner that was deflected by Lauren Adlrich before Lorenz picked it up and put it into the net for her first goal of the season.

The Trojans (5-13-1, 4-6 SBC) held firm defensively in the second half despite taking on 11 shots in the final frame and 19 in the game. Troy took nine shots in the contest, five on frame. Freshman goalkeeper Acelya Aydogmus finished with three saves en route to her fifth shutout of the season.

Eighth-seeded Troy will take on No. 1 Texas State in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Foley, Ala. On Wednesday. The Bobcats defeated the Trojans, 3-0, in Troy earlier this season.
