Troy’s Season Ends in Sun Belt Tournament

FOLEY, Alabama – The Troy soccer team saw its season ended with a 1-0 loss to top-seeded Texas State on Wednesday in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
While the Trojans (5-14-1) struggled to get going offensively, the team looked very organized defensively allowing the Bobcats just three shots in the first half; neither team managed a shot on goal until the second half.
Texas State (10-5-2) broke through in the 63rdminute when Haley Groff send a cross from the left wing that found the head of Kaylee Davis, the conference's leading scoring, for the game's only goal.
The Bobcats finished with 15 shots, the Trojans had five led by Natalie Melillo and Kiersten Edlund with two each.
