Troy Outdoor Set for NCAA East Preliminaries

TROY, Alabama – Troy outdoor track and field will send seven different athletes to compete in eight different events Thursday through Saturday at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Lexington, Ky.

Sun Belt Male Field Athlete of the Year Zach Douglas will lead the Trojans as they compete for spots in the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Corina Wieser-Cox returns for the fourth consecutive year in the discus event, while Douglas, Myles Charley and Hakim Montgomery are each making their second trip to the meet. Montgomery, a two-time Sun Belt Athlete of the Week, is the lone Trojan track athlete to qualify for this year's event.

Michael Alvernaz, Connor Brookman and freshman Titus Sizemore will round out the host of Trojans that qualified – Sizemore is Troy's third freshman in the last four years to advance to the Prelims.
