High School: Participate in track at West Point High School in West Point, Ala. … During his junior season he placed first in sectionals and sixth in the state in the shot put, with a season-long throw of 47’ 8” … Placed second in the discus at sectionals, 10th at states … Also placed 12th at states in the javelin … During senior season, set personal-bests of 51’ 3” in the shot put and 155’ in the discus, finishing sixth and 10th at states, respectively.
