Women’s Tennis Continues Road Play Against Georgia Southern and Tulane

Troy, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team will travel to Mobile, Ala., for a neutral site conference game against Georgia Southern on Saturday, April 8. The match is set for 8 a.m. at the Bruce Davis Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts. On Sunday, April 9, Troy will head west to New Orleans to face Tulane at 10 a.m.
The Trojans are coming off of a bye week, but split the conference opening weekend against Georgia State and Coastal Carolina the week prior. Troy fell in a close match to the defending Sun Belt Champions, Georgia State, but bounced back to defeat the Chanticleers 5-2.
Senior Alicia Rodriguez leads the team with a 7-2 record in dual match play and looks to extend her five match win streak. In doubles, Nancy Karaky and Sanae Ohta have a 6-4 record as a duo. Efriliya Herlina and Jiajuan Xue have a three match win streak on the doubles courts.
Georgia Southern is 10-8 on the season and is coming off a 7-0 loss against ULM last week. The Trojans are currently ranked ninth in the conference, while the Eagles hold on to the sixth spot. Tulane is 21-5 on the season and is coming off a 5-2 win over the University of Connecticut.
